Someone who holds the credential, is certified to teach it, and is still teaching it live. Course pages tend to sell hours and price. The person at the front of the class decides most of what you get for them.
Learn from people who passed it
The PMP rewards judgement in situations, and judgement is easiest to learn from people who have used it on real projects and sat the exam themselves. Ask whether your instructor holds the PMP, and which other certifications. A trainer who holds several can show you where the PMP fits beside agile, risk or program management rather than teaching it in isolation.
At Education Edge, our trainers passed those exams themselves with almost perfect scores. Our founder, Hemant Dhariyal, is one of only 20 professionals worldwide who hold every PMI designation.

Check that they are certified to train
Holding a credential and being approved to teach it are different things. Our instructors are formally certified as Trainers by PMI and IIBA, and stay on top of every change to the standards and exam versions — which matters after the July 2026 exam update.

Check the provider, not just the price
From 1 December 2026, PMI accepts live classes toward the 35 training hours only from a PMI Authorized Training Partner, a China Registered Education Provider, or an eligible accredited higher-education program. Education Edge identifies itself as PMI Authorized Training Partner #4456. PMI's PMP page asks you to search its directory before enrolling — do that with any provider, and read our guide to the December rule.
