Who is a Program Manager?

A program is a collection of various projects connected with each other towards a specific common goal. A program manager shoulders the responsibility of multiple related projects and oversees their strategies and success. Evidently, program management demands an exceptional acumen in managerial abilities and coordination besides excellence in project management. A program manager possesses significant experience in the industry, communicates effectively and is adept in cross-functional collaboration.

Advantages of Program Management

The PMI PgMP certification recognizes and validates a professional’s advanced experience, managerial skills and performance in overseeing a program. Acute and smooth coordination in the management of interrelated projects has proven to be more lucrative and successful than an individually supervised project. 76% of the projects are successful under program management while only 54% projects succeed under individual management.

The PgMP certification guarantees:

  • A high paying, competitive remuneration

How to stay certified?

Once you successfully pass the PgMP exam and earn our certification, your certification cycle commences. To retain the PgMP credential, the professional is mandated to earn and report 60 professional development units (PDUs) within the 3-year certification cycle. Failure to do so within the three-year cycle would result in the suspension of the credential for 1 year. If the PgMP professional still fails to comply with the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR), the credential expires, post which, the professional would need to re-apply and re-take the PgMP examination.
