7 tips to lead the projects more effectively

You are the kind of leader who achieves results, by taking charge of the way you carry out

your projects. Here are 7 tips to lead the projects more effectively:

  1. Start fewer projects – That’s the right thing you read. If you effectively use project time-management strategies to conduct a detailed feasibility analysis, create a cost-benefit analysis and analyse the possible risks, most projects will not even get out of the first block.  This is indeed good.
  2. All programmes are aligned to current strategies – Review the entire combination of your current and potential projects to see which best fulfil your existing strategic goals. Just work on the projects that suit your direction of the company. Before we initiate any project at Education Edge, we conduct a quick analysis to determine the projects are the most adequate. We review existing projects on a quarterly basis to see if it still makes sense for us to pursue them.
  3. Know what “done” means – If you plan to follow or move out a project, you collectively verify what this project means to conclude. You do this after you start or work on your projects. Scope creep can also start a project before you begin. You are more likely to successfully complete the project with a mutual dedication to what it means to get the project done.
  4. Reduce completion risks – Continuously monitor the risks to the project’s completion. Start this before your project starts. Identify the risks involved, build strategies for removing, reducing and handling them. Identify the individuals responsible for reducing the risks and find out what guides the project completion responsibility.
  5. Quick results – Ensure that anybody who pays for the project early in the life of the project will have something of a benefit. To see results, no one likes to wait. The results are shown in an inexpensive manner, fast.
  6. Be careful who’s on your “waggon.” – Get your team’s right people and fast the wrong people. For those that the organisation does not know how to use them, the project is not a warehouse. Career suicide is the “special projects” label. If you didn’t choose the people in your project team individually, decide whether you still need to undertake this project.   7. Quality is an example of how careful you are – If you do the work right, it also costs much less money with the right methods. Quality is nobody else ‘s asking you to do, or can discourage you. Understand the methods you use to create the deliverables of your project. Make sure they perform well or work immediately to upgrade them.
